Mirissa is located in the south of Sri Lanka, between major cities of Galle and Matara.Historically, Mirissa is one of the largest fishing ports at Sri Lanka‘s south coast.

Mirissa is one of the only places in Sri Lanka where you get to see blue dolphins dancing around and occasionally jumping  ​and it is probably the only place where you have chances to spot both blue whales and sperm whales on the same tour. 

The best period to watch whales is from the of November till March.

snorkelling and Surfing is quite a popular sport in Mirissa beach. The best time for surfing is between November and March.

Nightlife in Mirissa is as exciting as all the other activities offered at this beach.Along the beach are plenty of small restaurants and cafes, serving delicious and fresh seafood. After dark, the restaurants put out tables on the beach, light lanterns, and candles, and serve seafood barbeques.
